Birth Doula
Services
As your birth doula, my goal is to provide personalized, compassionate support throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. We’ll start with a free consultation—either in person or virtually—so we can connect and talk about your hopes for your birth experience, answer any questions about how I can support you, and decide if we’re a good fit. My birth doula services include two in-depth prenatal visits to discuss your preferences and birth plan, as well as to explore how I can best support you and your family during labor. I also offer the option to accompany you to a prenatal visit with your doctor, midwife, or other care provider. From 38 weeks onward, I’ll be on call 24/7 to ensure I’m available when you need me most. During labor, I provide continuous physical, emotional, and advocacy support, staying with you from the start of active labor through the first hours postpartum. After your baby arrives, we’ll have a postpartum visit to reflect on your birth, address any questions or challenges, discuss infant feeding, and celebrate your growing family. You can find some more info on birth doula care from Evidence Based Birth, ACOG, and ACNM.

Cost of Birth Doula Services
I am proud to offer all of my services on a sliding scale. My sliding scale is based on Alexis J Cunningfolk’s approach, which you can read about in this blog. Being honest with yourself about where you fall on a sliding scale helps all of us support each other, and build strong sustainable communities. If you aren’t sure you can afford a doula, lets talk! I am happy to talk about your families needs so we can find something that works for you. I am open to payment plans, and if you would like to purchase doula services as a gift, I offer gift cards as well.
-
This price is higher than the cost. This represents a ‘pay it forward’ price. If you opt for this bracket, you are supporting the accessibility to people who fall lower on the sliding scale, and my ability to support bereavement clients by donation.
-
This price is the actual cost. If you choose below this tier, you are receiving a discount. If you opt for this bracket, you are allowing me to support myself and cover my true costs. This bracket is for those are who are able to meet their basic needs.
-
This price is for those who are meeting their basic needs, but have little to no expendable income. Paying for the service may be a sacrifice, but it would not create hardship.
-
The bottom price is for those who cannot consistently meet their basic needs. If you opt for this price bracket, you are allowing your community to support you in accessing doula care.
-
Contact me anyway, and let’s chat. I have been open to barter or trade for some goods or services, I may be able to connect you with a trainee doula, I want to help you access doula care.
FAQs
-
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client. Doula care is evidence based, and has been shown to have many positive impacts, including decreased risk of c- section, decrease in the use of medications for pain relief, and shorter labors. You can read more about the evidence on doulas here.
-
A doula is a trained companion who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to the person giving birth, and can offer comfort measures, guidance, and continuous presence.
A midwife is a a health professional who provides medical care to you and your baby. Different kinds of midwives include CNM's (Certified Nurse Midwives) and CPM's (Certified Practical Midwives).
-

Yes, many people find these situations to be the ones where a doula is the most helpful. During an epidural for example, a doula can help you find positions for pushing. Many hospitals allow doulas to hold your hand and go with you to the OR during your C-section. Doulas can help you work through your options during an induction. Doulas are there to support you, whatever your journey looks like.
-
Many families worry that hiring a doula might leave the partner feeling sidelined. In reality, the doula’s role is to enhance the support that both the birthing person and their partner receive. Doulas are there to guide, not replace.
Your partner knows your emotional needs and preferences better than anyone. The doula works alongside them, offering suggestions for how they can best support you during labor. Whether it's reminding them to take breaks, offering tips for comfort measures, or simply being there as another set of hands, a doula helps partners feel more confident and engaged during the birth. After all, birth is a powerful, transformative experience for both parents, and a doula ensures that the partner’s experience is supported as well.

Nope! the consultation is complimentary, and a way for us to get to know each other and see if working together will be the right fit.

I might be your doula if:
You want someone who is experienced supporting all sorts of births and comfortable with everything from homebirth to VBACs to scheduled C-sections, and can help you make plan A, but also plans B, C, and D, so you can be proactive instead of reactive if things change.
You value evidence-based care and appreciate having a doula who stays up-to-date with the latest research and training in birth.
You’re looking for a spa-like atmosphere in the birth room, with soft lighting, soothing smells, therapeutic touch, and music.
You appreciate a gentle and kind presence, but also want someone who isn’t afraid to help you speak up for your needs and advocate for your birth choices.

Unfortunately no, its an insurance thing. I can help you arrange your ride though!
